Under the leadership of Dr. Robert Genzel, a board-certified Emergency Physician, the program provides peace of mind through physician-led emergency response, concierge-level service, and coordinated access to regional healthcare networks.
Emergency Medical Response
Oil Nut Bay maintains a continuous on-island presence of U.S.-trained Emergency Physicians, supported by flight nurses and paramedics during select weeks. These professionals are equipped to respond to a wide range of medical events—from urgent injuries to complex emergencies.
24/7 On-Island Coverage
A rotating team of board-certified physicians and emergency response team members ensures prompt medical attention at any hour.
Advanced On-site Capabilities
The clinic is equipped with critical care medications, diagnostic and emergency equipment including AEDs, ultrasound, Lifepak 15 cardiac monitor with 12 lead EKG and transcutaneous pacemaker capability, Pulse oximetry and ETCO2 monitoring. Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support equipment and medications are also available.
First Responder Support
A trained internal network of First Responders enhances emergency coordination. Ongoing instruction, drills, and scenario-based exercises ensure team readiness for multi-patient events.
Evacuation Coordination
When necessary, the medical team facilitates air or sea evacuation, with physicians available to accompany patients off-island to ensure continuity of care.
Concierge Medical Services
The program offers responsive, private care for non-emergency medical needs, ensuring homeowners receive timely attention without leaving the property.
On-Call House Calls and CLinic Visits
Physicians are available to visit residences or consult from the on-site medical office located in the Palm Center.
Prescription and medication Services
A limited inventory of over-the-counter and essential prescription medications are maintained onsite for convenience with coordination for full prescriptions through local pharmacies.
Regional Healthcare Coordination
Oil Nut Bay’s medical program also serves as a bridge to advanced medical care throughout the region when needed.
Specialist Appointment Assistance
The medical team coordinates appointments and transportation for specialty care on Tortola, or further afield.

Oil Nut Bay maintains strong relationships with Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) and area clinics, supporting streamlined communication and emergency response.
Physician oversight for Emergency Transfers
